Summary: C&C 3 network does not work
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.34.
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wine-net
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: alex(a)thehandofagony.com
When I enter the network lobby on two computers, they are not able to see each

There are no apparent error messages on the console, but enabling a winsock

I don't have syssetup.dll so that may explain the different symptoms
we're seeing.

Yes, it works. Setting the default depth to 24bit.
By the way i tried to modify the video settings in WoW to use 16bit, but even in
that case it didn't work. Is it normal?

WoW doesn't seem to like the available pixelformats. It seems you are running
X at 16bit and it is looking for a format with a depth buffer of 24. On
Windows there's depth switching but that doesn't exist on Linux so the
available formats are limited.
Try setting your X to 24bit I expect WoW to work then.

Hello,
newer DirectX versions rely on certain parts of .NET framework.
mscoree's LoadLibraryShim() fails due to missing .NET fusion assembly.
No problem.
Either install .NET framework (1.1) or place the minimum required binaries from
native windows installation or web into system32 directory:
fusion.dll
msvcr70.dll (dependency)
optional: shfusion.dll and MSVCR71.dll (dependency)
With both dlls present the installation proceeds further and finishes.
Though some minor complaints in WINDIR\DXError.log and WINDIR\DirectX.log
Looking at relay (LoadLibraryExW() retval=00000000) these seem not really critical.
When starting "dxdiag.exe" it complains about "dxdiagn.dll" too old.
This is due to wine's builtin version.
Use the native version and dxdiag will start up (though complains about some
sound module errors).
Basic info and directx tests seem to work so far.
If you got specific problems, file new bug reports.
I tested with DirectX 9.0c from january 2007
This info probably applies to other bugreports too.
Regards

mscoree? Geez, does this game's installer require .net?

winebrowser first tries xdg-open to start a browser. So instead of
patching Wine I think you should be able configure the behaviour
you want, provided your distro supports the freedesktop standard.

Sorry for bad wording - installer complains providing only Next button. After
clicking Next button, the installer does nothing and provides Back button only.
After clicking Back button, installer hangs without response.
I'll provide screenshots this evening.
