Summary: MathCAD 8 - crash when adding surface plot to page
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.37.
Platform: Other
OS/Version: other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: test
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: markknecht(a)gmail.com
In MathCAD 8 when I attempt to add a surface plot to a MathCAD page Wine-0.9.37
crashes immediately. I will attach the debug info, such as it is, in an
attachment after I post this report.
If someone can point me toward instructions on getting better debug info,
specifically on a Gentoo AMD64 machine, then I'll be happy to rebuild Wine to
get you better info. FYI - I am not a programmer so the instructions need to be
*very* basic!

Summary: MAthCAD 8 - some fonts incorrect
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.37.
Platform: Other
OS/Version: other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: test
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org

With Wine-0.9 37 I am finally able to install and run MathCAD 8 using one dll
from wine-tricks.(msvcirt.dll) Distro is 64-bit Gentoo on AMD64.
However the first problem I'm running into is that some fonts seem to be mapped
incorrectly. The most obvious is the equal sign '=' is showing up as the sort of
bold, larger X that is normally used for matrix cross products. Here is a link
to a web page that show math symbols:
http://searchdatacenter.techtarget.com/sDefinition/0,,sid80_gci803019,00.ht…
For multiplication I'm seeing I'm seeing an arrow pointing to the upper right.
I will attach a small PNG file to demonstrate the problem.

I changed window managers from gnome to xfce between 0.9.35 and .37. This is
what caused the crash. I switched back to gnome, 0.9.37 works OK.
I queried xfce in wine bugzilla. No errors appear so I assume xfce should work.
I use a virtual desktop, not certain why it should crash changing windows in
virtual desktop.
OS: Debian GNU/Linux 4.0 (etch official release)
xfce: 4.3.99.2
Is it worth my and your time to follow up with debugging xfce??

Ok, using the syspress program I get errors. In the console it spits out:
err:wintab32:X11DRV_LoadTabletInfo Unable to initialized the XInput library.
Although I have xinput installed, according to synaptic. That's the same error I
get when using the tablet in openCanvas. Also, a little dialog comes up saying:
Wintab services not available.
I'm using the Feisty debs of WINE, if that matters...
