I think if you import them ( "regedit codec.reg" ) and install the appropriate codec-dlls (look in the attached file "codec.reg"), you should be able to display all your AVI's just fine. If the codec installers itsself fail to set these entries, and they do set them on windows, you should file a bug against the codec-installers.
