Jeremy, those symptoms look like bug 7743 instead. Perhaps you could post the
+rpc log there.
Lei, can you still reproduce this crash? If not, I'll close this.

You said in your email:
Last 2 lines of console output is:
err:msi:custom_get_thread_return Invalid Return Code 1723
err:msi:ITERATE_Actions Execution halted, action L"InstallPackages" returned
1603
1723 is RPC_S_SERVER_BUSY. Could you post a +rpc log?

Correction; the final GUI with 'Finish' does report an install error. Just
didn't read it...

I see an installation failure with 7.4.1.2 as well.
Etch; moderately up to date. Clean git as of today,
after a make distclean. Clean ~/.wine (just use winecfg
to set winver to Windows XP).
Last few lines of log include:
err:msi:deformat_environment Unknown environment variable L"ALLUSERSPROFILE"
fixme:msi:msi_unimplemented_action_stub MigrateFeatureStates -> 4 ignored
L"Upgrade" table values
err:msi:ITERATE_Actions Execution halted, action L"InstallWelcome" returned
1602
The installer GUI itself doesn't seem to notice that anything is wrong; no
error. But there is clearly no itunes related files installed in ~/.wine
