In Kubuntu 7.04 (kde) with wine 0.9.44 I don't see any problem it works fine.

Actually, reading some comments on other bugs, I added "VideoMemorySize"="128"
to the Direct3d registry key and it began to work.

I get this same crash (although I'm just loading somewhere in HL2: ep1 when it
happens, i don't think the specific place matters).
It only happens when i enable HDR lighting to Full (Bloom work fine).
I'm using the latest nvidia-drivers, latest git wine, I have GLSL enabled, and
I'm using a Geforce 7950GT.

Can you retest this bug? I found and fixed a bug in the stateblock code which
could cause that. The code attempted to duplicate a list. It created a copy of
the first element in the source list, but instead of attaching it to the
destination list, it attached it to the source list again.
