With the patch for string security descriptors and the patch for Photoshop CS2
in the Git, Framemaker 7.2 trial should work with Wine 0.9.46 and a clean
~/.wine.

The more important patch got into the Git so in Wine 0.9.46 and with a new
~/.wine Photoshop CS2 Trial should work. I don't know how about the full
version but it should be using the same code so I hope it will work.

wine has an unhandled page fault on read access while installing eFax 4.3
While installing eFax 4.3 wine has an unhandled page fault.
Starting from a fresh ~/.wine.
rm -rf ~/.wine
winecfg (to recreate new)
Then I install ies4linux.
then "rm ~/.wine; cp ~/.ies4linux/ie6 ~/.wine" to create it with defaults from
IE6
then "wine msgrplus.exe" to install eFax 4.3. The install starts. It asks for

Retested with 0.9.46 and it is no longer a problem. Good job devs.

I'm using an nvidia card (Geforce4 Ti 4800SE), and experiencing this problem,
so this can't be a ATI/Nvidia issue purely... though, it could have something
to do with legacy code in Xorg drivers, as Geforce4 are in the "newer legacy"
group of Nvidia card (i.e. they work with the 1.0.96xx series drivers, not on
any greater version number, IIRC).
One thing I thought about was that maybe this has something to do with Kernel
(scheduling perhaps)? Some distros could have different settings on their stock
kernel... though, I think that is a bit far fetched probably. So I haven't
tried that, since it would require a recompile of the kernel and probably
wouldn't have any effect. But of course, if I become bored and find something,
I'll report here =)
I could also try with a plain SVGA X.org driver (without DRI) just to see what
happens, if I become very bored. I think that would give some insight as to
what is happening...

Cliffton Beach,
Can you reconfirm this bug with the latest Wine release?
