This bug depends on #9712 (HKEY_CURRENT_CONFIG support), at least for NFS3.

Ok, i got it running:http://appdb.winehq.org/appimage.php?iId=13474
Indeed the stubbed EnumServicesStatusExA was the problem, as Anastasius pointed
out. Simply returning TRUE instead of FALSE got past the crash.
After that a blank window showed, so unfortunately i had to use ies4linux again
to get past that screen and start the game. Apart from a missing cursor, it
seems to run quite fine.
Anyway, looks like the copyprotection is not the problem, wine works quite
nicely around it.

uh, for me the demo now hangs somewhere during initialization with
err:ntdll:RtlpWaitForCriticalSection section 0x60bafd20 "x11drv_main.c:
X11DRV_CritSection" wait timed out in thread 0009, blocked by 000e, retrying
(60 sec)
Could be a sound problem, or driver issue on my side again, not sure.
One time it git beyond this stage, and the menu + all fonts looked fine. So i
think the font bug is indeed fixed, but maybe someone else could try it, and
see if the game works better for him/her and confirm the fix

Discovery! - only occurs with X in 24bpp mode. In-game menu works fine if X
in 16bpp mode.
