Use the forums/wine-users for help with this, but in short, you'll need to
download the git tree and apply the patch. The regression testing wiki has a
guide on patching:

I haven't tried in the latest wine 1.0 series, however I am not even sure this
problem was with winsock. If you turn on all the debug messages in wine, you
will see that the correct IP is stored in one memory address, and then the game
makes a connection from an IP stored in an entirely different address. I think
the DNS lookup is fine, if you were to take the DNS lookup code out of the
winsock DLLs and put it into a small C program, hardcoding the FQDN of a
private server, it would return the correct IP. Somehow the location of the
stored IP is getting mixed up, and I'm not sure what module that is taking
place in as of yet...

This is still a bug in Wine 1.0-RC2.
Seems to get better if I disable the search entry history list from the
problematic Textbox.
I'm supossing that this can be caused by the search history list stealing the
focus of the text box when displayed.

After using windows media player 9 (wine wmplayer.exe) I always get a grub boot
error, need to rescue grub and run grub-install '(hd0)'
I am using Debian Sid, kernel 2.6.25-2-686, grub-pc v.1.96+20080512-1,
wine_1.0~rc1~winehq0~ubuntu~8.04-1_i386.deb.
(The same boot error also happens when using wine v.0.9.61)
