I just tested Supertux 0.3.0 obtained from URL with OpenAL installer from
(http://developer.creative.com/articles/article.asp?cat=1&sbcat=31&top=38&ai…)
and found no freezing or crashing when I started the game using Wine 1.0-rc2. I
played the game for a bit without problems, so I think it's safe to say that
this bug is fixed.

This could also be an ati driver bug. Can you try
switching xorg.conf to the vesa driver and see if the
bug goes away?

It appears to be a problem in Wine still. I just stumbled across this one in
Logicworks 5.0.2:
Logicworks and Wine crashes (log attached) when I click Help-About in
LogicWorks if I run it as "wine blah/blah/blah/Logicworks.exe"
However, when I run the application in desktop mode, like this:
$ wine explorer /desktop=ThisWorks,1024x768 /media/sda2/Program\
Files/LogicWorks\ 5/LogicWorks.exe
it works fine.
The error is identical, though I don't get the fixme:shell line.
X Error of failed request: BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)
Major opcode of failed request: 73 (X_GetImage)
Serial number of failed request: 55580
Current serial number in output stream: 55580
The serial numbers are not the same every time, but they are always the same as
each other.
Relevant info:
$ wine --version
wine-1.0-rc2
Ubuntu Hardy, Wine is from the budgetdedicated mirror:
http://wine.budgetdedicated.com/apt/sources.list.d/hardy.list
and the defaults across the board otherwise. I'm on an ATI video card (Radeon
HD 2400) using fglrx. This is the standard x86 install, not 64-bit.

The download is not available anymore. Anyone who still has access to
this app should try again with current git, this bug may have been fixed.

I don't encounter the last two issues listed by the reporter, but the first
issue seems to be a duplicate of bug 9799.

(In reply to comment #47)

X is just the graphics Driver for Wine and using X for the DIB-Engine is the
reason, why it's so slow (See the description of this bug).
> Any online documentation I can read over?
The DIB-Engine is a large Part of the GDI Rendering Engine.
