Summary: Diablo II windowed hangs forever when it loses focus
Product: Wine
Version: 1.1.1
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: Rincebrain(a)gmail.com
Diablo II, starting with Wine 1.1.0, hangs forever and spins the CPU when it
loses focus. It does not draw/update its window, though the music will continue
to play forever, and I am forced to wineserver -k.
This is not true of wine 1.0-rc4-42-gd93fa6a, so I'll be doing a git bisect
over the next day or two to find the offending patch.

OK, so it does work with audio disabled, as has already been said, but trying
to run a copy of popcapgame1.exe exits immediately to a Vis C++ runtime error.
Anyway, will update appdb.

For the sound problems, poking around with winedbg and the tracing facilities
on Wine 1.0 has led me to the suggestion that
BIOSDATA *pBiosData = DOSVM_BiosData();
in dosmem.c, function DOSMEM_InitDosMemory(), might be what is causing
problems.
As for the problem saving the game, touching the name of the file I wanted to
save into seems to have fixed the problem.

Debug report from running This Sims 2
Installed The Sims 2 on a clean wine 1.0 installation (The latest my Distro
provides). Installed fine. Started program, got a splash screen. Then most of
the screen went black and hung. Was able to kill program and save console debug
output. I even tried to add the .dll's listed at the beginning of the debug
info from my Windows installation. Still not luck, got a similar output
message.

Summary: Winecfg should allow configuring sound on a per app
basis
Product: Wine
Version: 1.1.1
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
Keywords: source
Severity: enhancement
Priority: P2
Component: programs
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: austinenglish(a)gmail.com
Most things in winecfg can be configured on a per app basis, but sound cannot.
This would help some apps (e.g. Steam), which conflict on sound. This way,
steam.exe could be disabled, but it's child apps would still get sound.
