Summary: Bugs with EssentialPIM
Product: Wine
Version: 1.1.10
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: minor
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: saverio.pub(a)inbox.com
Decriptions of bugs found using EssentialPIM
(http://www.essentialpim.com/?r=download)
System:
* EssentialPIM Pro 2.81 (most probably the same bug applies to the Free
version), installed
* Ubuntu Hardy
Three notable bugs:
1. If "Minimize to system tray" (tools -> options -> general) is chosen, the
minimization works fine.
now, there are two ways to restore:
a) right click on the icon, the select "restore": this works fine
b) left click on the icon: (BUG) the window is not restored, and the icon
disappears.
This bug is reproducible every time, and it never happens in windows.
2. In "Notes", the default text (I'm in wine now, so I can't see which one
exactly - I suppose Times New Roman) renders correctly underlined, italics and
strikethrough,
but (BUG) doesn't render at all the bold; it marks it as bold, but the text
is still plain. This never happens in windows.
3. Some times when launching the main executable, (BUG) a message "essentialpim
won't run in debug mode for security reasons" appears
and EPIM exits.
This message never appears in windows, and has an occurrence of about 1/15
on wine.

On an Ubuntu Intrepid system, with pulseaudio 0.9.10-2ubuntu9:
In wine-1.0.1, 1.1.0 sound in this game is fine.
In wine-1.1.6 ... 1.1.9, it's a little worse, and breaks up once in a while.
Still usable, though.
In wine-1.1.10, it's much worse; it's as if it's looping each
eighth of a second for a second. Sure makes the game go slow.
So slow that you can't get past the first screen. Unusable.
I'll attach a +dsound log.

Screenshot of GRLevelX running on Wine 1.1.8
It appears that the base map & radar image are hidden behind the black box.
Sometimes if a window is dragged across the radar, the base map & radar image
become visible for a brief moment. The intensity bar is always visible. This
appears to be an image layering or transparency problem.
A fully functional 30 day trial may be downloaded from:

attempting to update DirectX
Product: Wine

ReportedBy: xvachon(a)gmail.com
After inputting all commands for the installation process to begin, the setup
looks by default to update DirectX components. However, during that process the
installation crashes. This is still a problem with the 1.0 Wine version, and
according to the appDB page it was at least since the 0.9.43 version.
