I use opensuse 10.1
I am describing the experience with application
//Microsoft Bookshelf Basics dictionary 98// running on wine.
In wine version 0.9.45 I had no problems with the above mentioned application.
I was happy user. But I have problems with next versions.
The fonts are scrambled (some glyphs are not readable) since version 0.9.47 to
0.9.49. (I don't know whether version 0.9.46 is O.K. beacause it is not listed
in archive in sourceforge.net for opensuse 10.1)
In wine version 0.9.48 to 0.9.49 the ENTER key is not working when the
//Contents// tab is active.
The ENTER key works only in //Find// tab.
I have no other choice than sticking with version 0.9.45 that suits me the best
so far.
Please, see the attachements that reflect version 0.9.49 and 0.9.45.

Probably reported in comment #6 of Bug 3196, but I guess it is a different bug
than the original (fixed) Bug 3196.
With debugging off, I get same output:
fixme:system:SystemParametersInfoW Unimplemented action: 8192
(SPI_GETFOREGROUNDLOCKTIMEOUT)
fixme:system:SystemParametersInfoW Unimplemented action: 8193
(SPI_SETFOREGROUNDLOCKTIMEOUT)
fixme:system:SystemParametersInfoW Unimplemented action: 8193
(SPI_SETFOREGROUNDLOCKTIMEOUT)
fixme:commdlg:GetFileName95 Flags 0x00800000 not yet implemented
Turning debugging ON probably includes some delays in operation*, and the file
may open from time to time. Once the file is open, the application is fully
usable.
* The debug log outputs many lines of:
warn:gdi:GDI_GetObjPtr Invalid handle (nil)
which slows down the application.

This game runs fine under Vista, also XP, which it's intended for. However,
with wine, I get a message says "The program gameclient.exe has encountered a
serious problem and needs to be closed" during start up, then the game quits.
(gameclient.exe is the exectuble to start the game)

Summary: Magic Workstation: mwsplay.exe crashes when displaying
the main window
Product: Wine
Version: unspecified
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: gdiplus
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: fjfrean(a)gmail.com
MWSPlay.exe needs the gdiplus.dll library to work. But when the program access
it, the library fails and shows an error window saying: "Access violation at
address 70D09697 in module 'gdiplus.dll'. Read of address 00000048." (sometimes
the related address changes). This window appears repeatedly in a sort of
infinite loop, but when it appears a certain number of times, it blocks the
program and only can terminate it with the kill order.
In the appdb, someone says that in order to resolves this error, I only need to
delete the gdiplus.dll file from the program directory. Well, I do this, but
still in matter. The error window doesn't appear, but the game field is covered
with a blank veil, which prevents to see what is happening on it. In fact, the
program works, because when I pass the mouse over the place when the cards are
supposed to be, the program shows it in the right side of the window, the chat
windows works fine, I can take a card and plays it or the sounds works. All
woks, but this veil makes it unplayable.
You can download this program from http://www.magicworkstation.com/.

Summary: Some grounds and (broken) fancy shadows don't render

Using the latest git, some grounds(especially in Outlands an Northrend as far
as I can see) and the broken fancy shadows don't render at all if you use World
of Warcraft's Direct3D renderer. That wasn't present in 1.1.22 release.
A regression test turned out that commit
7433eb76b5f05ae54702fe9e57ba315407ed651b causes this bug. Reversing it on
current git fixes the problem.
