I have tested this game with latest wine 1.1.21. What I have found that when I run this game with sound on (winecfg alsa checked) I can play for a few seconds sometimes for a few minutes varies with the race type. On the other hand when I play this game with sound off (winecfg alsa unchecked) I can play for a long times around 10-30 minutes varies with the race type. On the both times, what we have found that this game crashes causing unhandled exception. So, what is the outcome of this test is the problem of this game is not related to wine's sound system. My system configuration is: Intel Celeron 3.1 Gz 1 GB RAM 256 MB NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GS UBUNTU 8.10 x86 WINE 1.1.21 terminal output on the both times: fixme:d3d:state_zfunc D3DCMP_NOTEQUAL and D3DCMP_EQUAL do not work correctly yet.
