AFAIK, this is not affecting the rendering/playability of the game. It just seems to be spamming the terminal while playing the game. Steps to reproduce: - wine explorer /desktop=foo,800x600 graphics.exe - press the start button - the new window should now have keyboard focus (but it doesn't) - could be verified by hitting any key, which would close the window This works in full screen mode and on win XP. The window could get the keyboard focus by clicking outside the window and clicking inside the window. WMP9 causes two unhandled exceptions that could be safely ignored, but Wine 1.1.20 has introduced a "Program Error" dialog in winedbg. This dialog shows twice every time any app is run under Wine. To recreate: 1. winetricks -q wmp9 2. winecfg Although this is a new feature, I guess it's technically a regression. Two options: 1. Fix the exceptions or 2. Remove the dialog from winedbg. Wine doesn't seem to request / fall into the heuristics. I'm currently playing some DOOM 3 and it's clearly not undirected when playing from GNOME Shell. Fallback mode has better performance as nothing is composited.
