So I used riched20.dll from windows (i use it from XP, win2003, win7), last is in attachment. One example: 1) Select a large amount of files (110 in my case) 2) Open the properties dialogue for these files 3) Double-click on an empty area in the metadata tab 4) Dialog box to add a new field to the metadata should open 5) Application crashes I have run this through winedbg and attached the output. Crash seems to originate from user32. I tried using the keyboard, but that was unsuccessful. I attempted safe mode, but that still did not work. I even installed directx 9.0 march 2008 distribution. It mentioned that I have a GeForce graphics card when it asked me if I wanted to run in safe mode. I actually have an ATI Radeon X1050 graphics card. The filename is Wd55_ben.exe and the sha1sum is da7c939d6bd7b06d91d3abe6094bd6e424009089. The app is delivered as a self-extracting zipfile. Letting it unpack itself curiously unpacks everything in the same directory, leading to multiple clashes. Better to unpack it with unzip, then it puts things in multiple directories with no clashes. Running the unpacked SETUP.EXE fails with SYS2090: The system is unable to load the program. Evidently it tries to resize a block of memory to the maximum possible size in the DOS memory space (1MB, or 65535 paragraphs); DOS replies "sorry, you can only resize that to 36661 paragraphs"; the app says "OK, mate, give me 36661 paragraphs"; and DOS says "Ha, ha, fooled you, you can't have that after all." I'd abort if it were me, too. Since CAS is an extremely important aspect of Sims 3, and creating new sims is mandatory for new installations, I am rating the severity of this bug as Major.
