Summary: Winhttprequest WaitForResponse should process messages
Product: Wine

Platform: x86

Allows application to respond user action while waiting. For example cancel
button.
Example: http://netikka.net/dev/winhttpwait.exe
Click "download". There is time counter, but counter doesn't work. Same thing
with cancel button. Also request should timeout in 30 seconds, but it doesn't?
(Url is just some large exe-file, easier to reproduce problem also using fast
internet connection)
begin
cancel:=false;
fhttp:=createoleobject('WinHttp.WinHttpRequest.5.1');
fhttp.open('GET', edit1.text, true);
fhttp.send();
// waiting 30 seconds or user cancel.
for i:=1 to 30 do
begin
if fhttp.WaitForResponse(1) then break;
application.processmessages;
label6.caption:='Time: '+inttostr(i);
if (i=30) or (cancel=true) then
begin
if i=30 then showmessage('Timeout') else showmessage('User cancel');
fhttp.Abort;
fhttp:=unassigned;
exit;
end;
end;
memo1.text:=fhttp.Responsetext;

end;
procedure TForm1.Button3Click(Sender: TObject);

SetRequestHeader implementation is needed first. Maybe not enough to make this
work, interesting to see. I use this kind of code to send formdata/photographs
to server.
procedure TForm1.Button1Click(Sender: TObject);
var fhttp, postdata: variant;
i: integer;
s: string;
begin
s:='test=12345';
postData := VarArrayCreate([0, Length(s) - 1], varByte);
for i := 1 to Length(s) do postData[i-1] := Ord(s[i]);
fhttp:=createoleobject('WinHttp.WinHttpRequest.5.1');
fhttp.open('POST', 'http://netikka.net/dev/posttest.php', true);
fhttp.setRequestHeader('Content-Type','application/x-www-form-urlencoded');
fhttp.send(postdata);
if Not fhttp.WaitForResponse(30) then
begin
fhttp.Abort;
fhttp:=unassigned;
showmessage('Timeout!');
exit;
end;
if fhttp.responsetext='12345' then

See screenshot. There is no terminal output.
Tried winetricks riched20 riched30 corefonts, but none of those helped.
Interestingly, it only occurs on the first dialog, the others are okay.

Today I tried to replay an internal IBM presentation using the Centry software
tool w/ this command line:
$>wine TAD4DLMT-7.2-Server-Installation-\(PSS916584\)_en_US_09-09-01_10.06.exe

AS seen in the attached screen shot, the presentation itself is displayed well,
audio works fine, but the lists to the left side are empty except the icons.

WINEDEBUG=+seh (partial) output
I've got a VB6 application which I'm trying to run on Wine 1.0.9.
Several modules of the software are still made in VB3 (application name is
"Ec501.exe") and are called by the 32 bit part.
I understand that the 32 bit is put on hold until the 16bit is completed
(Mutex16 stuff)
When I start the 16 bit part I get the attached error message and the 16bit
part is not executed.
In particular I get:
"Unhandled exception: floating point stack check in 32-bit code"
PS: My machine is an Athlon 1200 with Ubuntu 8.10 and gnome.
PS2: Im running the etersoft wine version "wine_1.0.9-eter41ubuntu_i386"
because the software is protected by an USB Eutron Smartkey (which etersoft
version supports). The part related to the smartkey works correctly.
WINEDEBUG=+seh log attached
Thanks

Team Fortess 2 hangs after playing 2 - 20 minutes. The sound loops and I can't
return (alt-tab) to the windows manager. But I can switch to a console and
restart kdm. Just killing the wine related processes does not help.

in the kingdom level/map, the ground is not drawn. while the ground is drawn in
all cities, this bug happens only in kingdom. all other objects in the kigdom
appear normally, including mountains, people, horses, grass, stones/pebbles,
water, bridges, buildings, etc... everything is drawn, just on top of an
invisible ground through which i can see everything, including distant
buildings miles away.
i have lots of native DLLs, most of the DirectX files in fact, using winetricks
for that, but i did try creating an alternate wine prefix, with no overides,
and the bug still happened.
i don't know how to provide any useful logs for this issue, wine throws a lot
of output during all levels, good and bad ones, but i'll try providing a short
output log anyway.

When I launch Borland C++ 5.02, the "about dialog" contain a count timer in aim
to control the speed of some printing in screen.
But with my CPU, (final time - start time)= 0 then this result is use to divide
a constant => "divide Error"
My question, Is it possible to make wine running at a slow speed click time to
avoid this problem? (I presume it should be used for some older games)
In other word, Is it possible to virtualise the speed of processor in purpose
to use older program?
thanks.
Stephan
It would be cool to develop/maintain under wine rather windows...
PS: I know is a older framework but...

Summary: Serious Sam encounters a problem with mouse look

Mouse control is seriously broken in both The First and The Second Encounter of
the series (Serious Sam II is not affected). The player finds himself looking
at the ground very frequently.
In the menus the mouse works correctly.
Nothing relevant in the console.
On my system the problem is reproducible in
- Wine's full-screen mode
- virtual desktop mode, only when the option "Automatically capture the mouse
in full-screen windows" is checked.
Native dinput.dll doesn't help. Compiling Wine without xinput2 support works
around the problem.
The problem with the mouse began with the following commit:
a59c7cc8596b658d3c0854a737528cf60947ac1f is the first bad commit
commit a59c7cc8596b658d3c0854a737528cf60947ac1f

winex11: Automatically clip the pointer when the foreground window is
full-screen.
With that commit the mouse pointer was spinning around constantly mid-game and
it also jumped around in the menus.
Although the spinning issue as well as the problem in the menus were fixed with
a later commit, the mouse pointer still tends to point to the ground frequently
in wine-1.3.25-241-gc1aaacd.
