Compare these two screenshots:
1. http://i.imgur.com/lPKij.jpg This is normal, most of the time i get this
render.
2. http://i.imgur.com/a922R.jpg This is occationally appearing at some specific
camera angles (i've found a lucky way to reproduce this glitch in 95% cases).
The glitch appears in both GTA3 and GTAVC.

Summary: F.E.A.R.: License key can't be entered in installer
Product: Wine
Version: 1.4
Platform: x86-64
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal

Component: -unknown

The license key is a sequence of 5 4-letter/digit sequences. As soon as there's
a letter in one of the sequences (which should be true for pretty much all
keys), you can only enter 3 characters in this sequence and therefore can't
install the game. I also tried using an 8-bit locale (en_US.iso88591) rather
than the default UTF-8 one, but that didn't make any difference. If you only
enter digits, you can enter all 4 characters in each sequence. The latest
release in the Wine 1.2-series (1.2.3, IIRC) only had this problem in the
middle sequence.
Since this is an installer problem, it will probably also manifest in other
Sierra titles of that time (2005/2006).

OK, this might be a bit unreasonable, but:
Microsoft has a logging implementation of wininet that they give out
to users to help in troubleshooting; see
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/884931
and
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=57ad7099-de71-4b1c…
It might come in handy to have their version running on
Wine and generating nice log files, so I gave it a shot.
That comes with several versions of wininet.dll. I tried the WinXP SP2
one by doing
cabextract IE-KB884931-v2-x86-enu.exe
cp wininet.x86.6.0.2900.2180.dll ~/.wine/drive_c/windows/system32/wininet.dll
and then setting native override on wininet in winecfg, then tried
running a wininet test case,
cd dlls/wininet/tests
~/wine-git/wine wininet_test.exe.so ftp.c
This crashed because a crazy length was passed to a string compare function:

Installation & program startup pose no problems.
When I try to connect to the sunny beam data logger, the connection menu only
shows com ports. In windows, I can also select the usb port.
With my newly delivered Photovoltaic solar panels comes a little device
called sunny beam to track the power production of the panels, and load the
data to a PC.
I setup the SW with wine with no problems.
When I want to access the device via USB, the application only shows com
ports, and not the USB port.
When I do the same in Xp, It shows the com ports and a menu entry for USB
connection.
It looks like the USB interface is not recognised in linux.
it does not show in lsusb

This is a very ancient game (1999), that up until now has not worked (bug
#22434). Now that I have gotten it to launch, I've come to notice that the
keyboard is not working. This happens in both the full version and in the demo
which can be downloaded here: http://www.megagames.com/download/hypedemo.exe
(it's a self-extracting zip archive, just extract the files somewhere, then run
setup.exe, ignore the errors, the game executable is MaiD3Dvr_bleu.exe).
Since I /believe/ the game uses dinput, I've attached a WINEDEBUG=+dinput
trace. (and I did press the down button a few times after starting the game,
which did not move the menu selection down (that's the problem)). To my
untrained eye it looks like the keyboard events are received, but are somehow
not being fed to the application?
Installing MS DirectX (yes, full DirectX) via winetricks does not help.

Hello, I'm the maintainer of wine in MacPorts. After applying the patch from
bug #26643, wine on Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger still fails to build, now with:
mmdevdrv.c:57:37: error: AudioToolbox/AudioQueue.h: No such file or directory
Indeed that header doesn't exist on Tiger and from what I can tell, Audio
Queue Services wasn't introduced until Leopard. See:
http://developer.apple.com/library/mac/documentation/MusicAudio/Reference/A…
The MacPorts project has this ticket open about this problem:
