This is especially annoying as this installer does not allow you to simply type a non-existent path (it ignores your selection if you do so). Clicking on the button causes the following fixme to be printed: fixme:msi:ControlEvent_HandleControlEvent unhandled control event L"DirectoryListNew" arg(L"0"). It no longer does; see the comment added by d88ee55e686c647b372d82c1349b06205561878a. But winhttp/winhttp.ok now fails in that case. http://www.winehq.org/pipermail/wine-patches/2011-August/105358.html proposes making the failure message explain how to fix it. The program works correctly when tested against Windows XP Pro SP3. Note: An Everquest 2 account is NOT needed to work on this bug, as it occurs prior to login. When I run it, it brings up a dialog with a progress bar that says: "Extracting Files...". Then it crashes with: fixme:process:IsWow64Process (0xffffffff 0x34dcc8) stub! wine: Unhandled page fault on read access to 0x00000020 at address 0x4210d3 (thread 0016), starting debugger...
