Log Output from the console
With Version 7 of World of Warcraft, aka Legion expansion, the default renderer
is DX11.
Using this with wine.staging 1.9.13 results in semi transparent

Especially the face looks rather weird as you can see from picture ofthe
character selection screen that i attached below.

Attempted to install SimCity 4 Deluxe Edition using wine-1.9.13 (Staging).
Installation starts successfully, program takes in registration code and begins
installing with a working progress bar. However, once reaching 100% on the
first installation screen, the installer window closes and never prompts for
disk 2. When setup.exe is ran again, the splash screen offers to Play the
installed game.
Clicking play opens a full-screen window and the game attempts to run, but
never progresses past the EA splash screen.

This is the backtrace from that error
I'm not sure if the error was with the update to Battle.net or my update to
1.9.15 in wine. I attempt to open battle.net and it comes up with an error
that reads:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The program battle.net.exe has encountered a serious problem and needs to
close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
This can be caused by a problem in the program or deficiency in wine. You may
want to check the Application Database (Which is gold if I remember correctly)
for tips about running this application.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As a note: Yesterday the program worked 100% fine for me. About 2 hours before
the updates it worked fine. Then after I received the popup saying I had to
restart battle.net it gave the error. I uninstalled wine completely, then
reinstalled wine, which also uninstalled battle.net and now I can't even get
into the installation process for it anymore. I hope this helps!

The launcher is required to launch games like Starcraft 2, World of Warcraft,
Hearthstone, Overwatch and Heros of the STorm.
Bug #40905 is about another application needing the same method. Maybe the bug
reports can be merged.
According to the comments on AppDB, installing vcrun2015 makes the launcher
work again:
