Summary: Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links crashes shortly after starting
Product: Wine

Hardware: x86-64
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED

Regression SHA1: 97b0907439183cb86e6c05a4d8c9bf14d73805c7
Distribution: Debian
Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links (Steam Windows release) used to work properly on Wine 3.0,
3.1 and 3.2. (as well as wine-staging 2.21)
However, since Wine 3.3 (this includes Wine 3.5 and Wine-staging 3.5), the game
crashes shortly after i execute it.
(First, a window with a white screen appears then it quickly crashes after
that. Normally, it would show the Konami logo after that.)
After testing each commit between Wine 3.2/3.3, i found that commit
97b0907439183cb86e6c05a4d8c9bf14d73805c7 (ntdll: Allow loading 32-bit IL-only
binaries on 64-bit.) is causing Duel Links to crash.
After i reverted that commit, the game works great with Wine 3.5. (just like it
used to)
Seems like the heuristic is falling in this case.
If you need to test it, you can download the game for free on Steam.
http://store.steampowered.com/app/601510/YuGiOh_Duel_Links/
The game's engine is Unity 5.6.1p.
My Linux Distribution is Devuan Unstable with Linux-Libre 4.15.

Results from screenfetch (minus some personal and superfluous details)
I have been trying to play Blizzard games for a while now, but since the 3.0
Wine release the login button on the battle.net Login screen never appears,
making me unable to get to my account. I'm going to be honest and say I have no
idea how to debug this further, so I was hoping someone could help me through
the steps to provide better information.

QtWebEngineProcess.exe backtrace
It seems that EA have broken the Origin client with their latest update.
Whatever I do, I'm getting:
Unhandled exception: page fault on write access to 0x00000000 in 32-bit code
(0x1123fba2).
in QtWebEngineProcess.exe.
More details:
Had a working installation of Origin on Wine 2.21 x64. Update was pushed out on
20/2/2018 and now I'm getting the above error. Tried to re-install/uninstall,
no avail.
Decided to try a fresh wine prefix. Tested with 2.22/3.1/3.2 (64bit), 3.1/3.2
(32bit). The same result.
Backtrace is attached.
Not sure if I can provide any more debug info.

In Skyrim Special Edition, when a player is supposed to interact with an NPC,
nothing happens. The player does not hear any audio, and cut scenes associated
with a given interaction do not play. Furthermore, the NPC's don't move their
mouths is if they are trying to talk.
The issue is best described as if the characters don't know that they're
supposed to do anything. They just sit there and nothing happens.
Unfortunately, this breaks the game, as the player cannot make it through the
opening tutorial.
Please see this video showing what the player is to expect when the opening cut
scene ends: https://youtu.be/p3teMHOfmsg?t=3m37s The player is removed from the
cart, which brings them to the character selection screen.
When running under WINE, the player remains sitting in the cart with the 3
other NPCs, and nothing happens when the cart comes to a stop.
Outside of that, the audio in the game appears to work correctly. Sound effects
such as horses grunting, and the wheels of carts rolling along cobblestone
paths play as they should.
I have attached a log file when the following command was executed in the Steam
directory '$ wine Steam.exe &>log.txt'.
I also have a screenshot showing the cart ride cut scene, where normally player
would hear the stormcloak soldier saying "Hey, you, finally awake...etc":
(Please see https://youtu.be/p3teMHOfmsg?t=43s for an example.) Where in my
screenshot, said soldier just sits there and doesn't say a word.
Tested on:
Wine 3.0
Distro is Solus
AMD FX-8350
AMD R9 280X with the opensource mesa drivers
xaudio2_7 (builtin then native) override in place

Summary: Jack's Attic fails to launch due to lack of virtual
memory
Product: Wine

Jack's Attic, an old educational game, fails to launch due to a claimed lack of
virtual memory.
The application calls GlobalMemoryStatus, and adds together the reported values
for TotalPageFile and TotalVirtual, then does a signed comparison with 3MB.
However, GlobalMemoryStatus contains code to limit the total virtual memory to
0x7ffdffff, and also contains code to limit the total paged memory to
0x7fffffff *if* the application is detected to be an old binary (just by
comparing version numbers). These, added together, yield 0xfffdfffe, which is
negative and so less than 3MB.
The game works fine on Windows, because the reported virtual memory isn't
limited (and so the addition wraps around and remains positive). This is
Wine-specific code which is included to help other applications work where they
wouldn't on Windows. Unfortunately, it causes this application to fail.
Perhaps a better solution would be to use a registry key?
