When starting the game, it will complain that the Windows Media Feature Pack
isn't installed. Although this is just a warning, it's annoying to clear it
every time the game is run.
The game seems to be looking for the existence of the following registry keys
and will stop complaining if they are imported into the wine prefix's registry:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AppID\{B8C54A54-355E-11D3-83EB-00A0C92A2F2D}
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Applications\wmplayer.exe
FYI: The game seems to run just fine in wine despite the warning. I haven't
seen any media playback issues. So I guess wine *does* support whatever it's
upset over, it's just wine doesn't satisfy it's initial registry check.

I have 4 screens: Laptop (1), HDMI (4), Display Port (2) and USB-C to display
port adapter (3). Numbers are how they are identified in the Display utility,
see screen shot. The mouse works fine on every display except #3. On display
#3 the application doesn't respond to mouse actions in any way, e.g. clicking
in the window, selecting some text, clicking a button. I can use the mouse to
move the window around on all monitors, even #3.
This problem was not present in Ubuntu 22.04 and WINE 9. It showed up with

Painnt Shop Pro 9 CLI output
Hi all
I have tested Paint Shop Pro 9 with Wine 9.0-rc5 and it works almost perfectly
fine. This program is listed in Wine's AppDB as "Platinum" unfortunately there
exist one regression.
It is not possible to exit the program properly. If it is started via the CLI
and then closed there appears as the last information an
"0178:err:sync:RtlpWaitForCriticalSection section 7BD7B2C0
"dlls/ntdll/loader.c: loader_section" wait timed out in thread 0178, blocked by
0024, retrying (60 sec)" message. That one is repeating itself after one
minute. As a result the CLI window must be forcefully closed which then also
terminates the Wine session.
See the "PaintShopPro9_CLI_output.txt" for more information.
There is only one override regarding the "gdiplus.dll" file needed at least for
the first startup. Otherwise it is not possible to close the "Learning center"
dialog box. When that is done the override can be reverted I think. Note, Paint
Shop Pro 9 already contains an own (quite old) native "gdiplus.dll" file.
The program can be downloaded from here:
https://www.tenforums.com/software-apps/191499-paint-shop-pro-4-12-7-04-8-1…
It can be installed via the "Jasc Paint Shop Pro 9.msi" and "Jasc Animation
Shop 3.msi" files without any registration and also without any serial.

Summary: Software-based iLok activation doesn't seem to work in
wine, gives some file I/O error
Product: Wine
Version: 9.17
Hardware: x86-64

Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2

Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
Reporter: el(a)horse64.org

It seems to be the case that software-based iLok DRM ( https://paceap.com/ ) is
currently broken in wine, and can't activate any license while spitting out
some weird file creation error instead:
Thrift: Fri Jan 10 19:16:52 2025 TPipe::open ::CreateFile errored GLE=: errno =
2
Thrift: Fri Jan 10 19:16:52 2025
\\.\pipe\com_paceap_eden_licensed_authorization: errno = 0
This means all professional audio software that uses software iLok doesn't
work, and tragically pro audio software is otherwise one of the most well
working software categories that I know in wine. Since iLok is so popular, this
means a lot of industry standard software doesn't work, making this a
potentially high impact issue for audio software.
It would therefore be nice if this could be addressed at some point. Sorry if
this is just caused by some mistake on my end, but I've found others on web
forums with similar problems with activations, so I believe it's not just me.

2) Extract the zip file
3) Don't run "Cubase 12/Setup.exe" (doesn't work). Instead navigate to "Cubase

other MSIs)
4) After the installation, run the program (C:\Program Files\Steingerg\Cubase

5) MessageBox appears

The first Army Men game has incorrect colors. This causes the cinematics to be
black, the in game colors to be crushed, for instance blue rivers become black
rivers, and the greens of the forest all become one color of green. It makes
things somewhat difficult to see. I have tested this on different computers
with different hardware to make sure. Someone mentioned it has something to do
with the bitmaps for the game not being converted properly.

When you make a different move from the one in the game score, a dialog should
pop up with options such as overwrite, etc called Input New Move. This is
sometimes not happening (effectively locking up the application) any longer
which makes Chessbase 11 junk in this version. It's fairly random though. Using
plasma to show all screens you see it titled as a Input window (should be Input
new move) and trying to close it there doesn't work. Sometimes it just doesn't
fail. Tried and failed on two and one screens.

A Spammer is likely using Wine bugzilla since I had no spam before recently
interacting with wine bugzilla and now a ton every day from a few domains. No
other major interactions with my email around the start date except with a
pension company (far less likely to be the source). Spammers just need to
create an account here and scrape bug reports.
For most things there is no reason to show email addresses to the public as
that is not necessary for most use cases. In the rare case where it is
necessary to contact someone related to a bug or out of interest, it should go
via a request to wine maintainers, not allow anyone to contact anyone
unsolicited. This also probably breaches privacy laws (GDPR etc).

Summary: Installer windows for several Disney Interactive
products do not render correctly
Product: Wine
Version: 1.2-rc5
Platform: x86
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: trivial
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: markk(a)clara.co.uk
This bug report applies to at least three Disney Interactive products from the
years 1999 and 2000: Dinosaur Activity Centre, Magic Artist Studio and Toy
Story 2 Action Game.
On starting Setup.exe from the game CD, the initial window is not rendered
properly. It mainly consists of a grey background; the only part which is
rendered properly is the "sparkling" Disney logo. If you move the pointer over
where the buttons should be, they are drawn when the pointer passes over them.
(See the Windows screenshot to find where the hotspots are.)
With Wine *not* in virtual desktop mode, if you drag the window or activate
another window, it refreshes/renders correctly. (In virtual desktop mode the
window has no decorations, so cannot be dragged.)
After the window has refreshed, if you partly cover it with another window,
then click in the Setup window to bring it to the front, the just-revealed
parts are blank. That also happens in virtual desktop mode.
I have created an archive containing only those files sufficient to allow
Setup.exe to run. You can download it from

Summary: Old DX7 game "Dinosaur Worlds" crashes on start
Product: Wine
Version: 5.4
Hardware: x86
OS: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P2

Log
This is basically a recreation of the long abandoned bug 1934. I found the
program in archive.org, and the issue still remains.
As soon as it starts, it crashes.
Fair warning: It switches to super low resolution which won't be reset on
crash, so enable the virtual desktop in winecfg.

Summary: Pro Evolution Soccer 6 doesn't have SFX on menus and
ingame
Product: Wine
Version: 9.0-rc1
Hardware: x86-64
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: minor
Priority: P2

Backtrace all
This bug is present in Wine since forever, it never had SFX on this game. This
comment from 2010 verifies what I'm reporting.
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=22598#c53
A workaround is to do winetricks directmusic dsdmo, but then the game gets
sound glitches, whistles out of nowhere ingame and some very noticeable latency
on SFX.
I provide a bt all and console output of clean wine with the latest 9-01 rc. I
also add bt all and console output with the winetricks workaround if it's
useful.

Bug ID: 57179
Summary: Since Wine 7.5, file uploads in Hotline Client 1.2.3
hang after about 200 KB
Product: Wine
Version: 9.17
Hardware: x86-64
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wineserver
Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
Reporter: winehq(a)jordan.yelloz.me
Distribution: ---
I was uploading a file to a Hotline server from the Hotline client (1990s BBS
software used mostly on Macs) using recent versions of Wine, all the way up to
9.17 and noticed that uploads greater than about 200KB will not complete
successfully.
I found that this is working properly in wine 7.4 and earlier and I think I've
narrowed the cause down to the commit
https://gitlab.winehq.org/wine/wine/-/commit/1c6c90c7e1f1cd011e0ddb1dba4771…
. Though I'm not knowledgeable enough about wine's implementation to fix the
problem, I tested with the latest code in 64-bit mode, and if I just set
reply->nonblocking = FALSE at
https://gitlab.winehq.org/wine/wine/-/blob/6dfb84f5cbdf30c1dc0775fd4dae821e…
the upload will succeed but obviously the client application UI will be
unresponsive while that happens.
The windows versions of the Hotline client and server are downloadable from
