I'm getting an exception - see attachment. Same machine on real Windows 11: Everything is fine. Maybe some crypto-thing? The issue started when I updated to 11.0 (I skipped rc5). Steps to reproduce in clean prefix (wineboot --init, no overrides, no env vars): 1. Install base DAZ Studio 4.24.0.4 (no content needed). 2. Launch DAZ. 3. Window → Workspace → Select Layout... → Cancel 4. Try to open Window menu again → menu does not appear (click has no effect). Log (+err,+warn,+qt,+focus,+menu,+popup) shows: - First menu open: system popup created (e.g., 0x10262/0x10264), all standard items inserted (&Restore, &Move, etc.), NtUserThunkedMenuInfo applied, default set, get_menu_state checks. - Dialog close: NtUserDestroyMenu destroys popup handles. - Second (and third) menu attempt: identical creation cycle (new handle, items inserted again, etc.). - But no MapNotify/Expose/visibility events for the second popup — menu never appears on screen. Setup: - Wine: wine-11.1 (apt install --install-recommends winehq-devel) - OS: Linux Mint 21.3 Cinnamon X11 w/ all latest updates applied - GPU: NVIDIA 590.48.01 driver - App: DAZ Studio 4.24.0.4 base install Tested: - Compositing off - Virtual desktop on/off - Qt env vars (QT_X11_NO_MITSHM=1, QT_AUTO_SCREEN_SCALE_FACTOR=0) - Windows version change (10 -> 7) - Focus mode switch (from sloppy to click and back) - No DLL overrides or custom env vars in clean prefix I then ran my test again with WINEDEBUG='+err,+warn,+qt,+focus,+menu,+popup' to produce the attached log. I interjected comments into the log to indicate where I took the actions described above. I also noted a black square, which always appears in the upper left corner right at the crash, very likely the not rendered and correctly positioned menu. Cause as stated in the crash dump: unimplemented function USER32.dll.CalculatePopupWindowPosition I elevated the severity to this problem to major because you basically need drop down or popup menus to properly work with these programs. From changing your shape tool to converting objects or using colour correction; everything is done through these type of menus. With wine-11.5, the downloader proceeds to the error message "CyberLink Downloader could not complete the download process" instead, which does not match the expected behavior on Windows. The downloader appears to retrieve information from the URL "http://downloader.cyberlink.com/prog/util/downloader/get-link.jsp?PRODUCTNA…" to determine the installation file to retrieve. Currently, retrieving the response from the URL results in the string (pasted here as a C string literal) "ERROR: 001\r\nhttps://build.cyberlink.com/Retail/PhotoDirector/D1RN0OQ05HH74/Cyber…" where the link in the response points to the updated downloader. >From the Wine debug output, the downloader checks if the retrieved response is a valid URL: 0134:fixme:urlmon:IsValidURL (00000000, L"ERROR: 001\r\nhttps://build.cyberlink.com/Retail/PhotoDirector/D1RN0OQ05HH74/Cyber…", 0): stub As IsValidURL currently returns S_OK unconditionally if a string is passed to it, the downloader tries to use the response as a URL to be retrieved with wininet but fails, resulting in the observed error message. I am trying to run a windows executable under wine. I get the following error: Error in RPC::Firewall blocks events. I ran my app with RPC logging enabled, and I found this error: fixme:hnetcfg:fw_manager_IsPortAllowed I traced this back to dlls/hnetcfg/manager.c to confirm that the fw_manager_IsPortAllowed function is not implemented. What is the recommended way to work around this issue? Would it be unreasonable to update that function to just return allowed = true? Is there a way to simply bypass or patch that function at runtime rather than changing wine source? Recommendations welcome. Instead, Wine's default, minimal, and visually unappealing decorations are displayed. I have enabled option "Allow the window manager to decorate the windows" in winecfg and it's working fine on Xwayland.
