Thanks for further clarifying expectations. Curious if MR-11398 has any effect on mfplat behavior: - https://gitlab.winehq.org/wine/wine/-/merge_requests/11398#note_147852 MR-11398 supports failing for D3D11_CREATE_DEVICE_VIDEO_SUPPORT which allows UnityPlayer.dll to support software video processing which fixes videos for many Unity games. Curious if MF_SOURCE_READER_ENABLE_VIDEO_PROCESSING behavior may be related/dependent upon D3D11_CREATE_DEVICE_VIDEO_SUPPORT and if the game supports fallback behaviors similar to UnityPlayer.dll. Although WMV2 to MFVideoFormat_RGB32 may still be an issue regardless and may need to be fixed. Some of Unity games failed for NV12/I420 to MFVideoFormat_ARGB32 without MR-11398 which helped clarify the actual bugs which may also help for wmn5r.exe. I'll test soon. MR-11398 uses a different and probably much simpler code path than DXVK or however you were running it previously which involves d3d-cross-device multi-threading which may be much more bug prone. If still you encounter similar bugs using the less bug prone codepath via patch above then this bug should probably remain open and be considered only a partial duplicate of bug-50277 because mfplat bugs more broadly/specifically may need to be fixed first in order to close this bug properly per earlier description/comments. > thanks, i'll try to play this soon. The patch sets MF_SOURCE_READER_ENABLE_VIDEO_PROCESSING=TRUE on the game's existing Source Reader attribute store. With the original executable, SetCurrentMediaType(MFVideoFormat_RGB32) returns 0xC00D5212 and the game enters its DebugBreak error path.
