Clay Wood verified that this is now fixed in CVS.
Thanks to Rein Klazes for
http://www.winehq.org/pipermail/wine-patches/2005-September/020997.html,
which evidently made it into cvs.

Summary: Picasa installer license agreement defaults to the
bottom of the textbox
Product: Wine
Version: CVS
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wine-misc
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: clay.wood(a)gmail.com
CC: dank(a)kegel.com
I'm running a build compiled using the code in CVS as of today.
When installing Picasa2, the license agreement text box defaults to the bottom
of the text when it should start at the top.
To reproduce:
1. wget http://dl.google.com/picasa/picasa2-current.exe
2. wine picasa2-current.exe
The scrollbar defaults to the bottom of the textbox. It defaults to the top
when I run it on a Windows machine.
Thanks!

It looks like this is causing the problems:
12:13:23.3 SPOOGE - Windowed display does not support alpha channel (mode
21)!
12:13:23.3 SPOOGE - CheckDepthStencilMatch() failed( 75)!

Whoops - sorry. This was with CVS as of today rather than using the 20050830
tarball.
Also, I can only reproduce this with
http://toolbar.google.com/picasa/picasa2-setup-1884.exe and not with
http://dl.google.com/picasa/picasa2-current.exe.

I'm running 20050830 compiled from the tarball.
When installing Picasa2, the user cannot scroll through the full License Agreement.
To reproduce:
1. wget http://toolbar.google.com/picasa/picasa2-setup-1884.exe
2. wine picasa2-setup-1884.exe
3. click on scrollbar on the right of license text window and drag it to the bottom.
The scrollbar hits the bottom, but the agreement text ends in midsentence:
"The Picasa Software may communicate with Google's servers to check for
available updates to the Picasa Software, such as bug fixes, patches, enhanced
functions, missing plug-ins and new versions ("
When installing this on Windows the license agreement continues for many more
paragraphs before it reaches the end.
Thanks!

That's very strange that your whole machine froze after wine crashed. It would
be extremely helpful if you could do a regression test. If you updated recently
(which you said you did), then you wouldn't have to go very far back to find the
patch that is making wine crash. Refer to the documentation for regression testing:

There was no more output, backtrace, etc.
The machine freezes hard immediately after wine announces the Unhandled
exception. Sigh.

Mozilla 1.5 can, as far as i know, not be downloaded anymore. I tried latest
1.7.12 and with current cvs it runs out of the box with no visual glitches at all.
Ergo I think this bug has been fixed; if not please reopen this bug. Regards
