This will not work because wine does not have explorer.

Use command:
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="ole32=n" wine DCOM98.exe
This will not work because of dependencies uxthem.dll introduced.
It is fixed in cvs.

Well, the DXGrab option doesn't work (anymore ?)
I also noticed this in halflife2: if you move the mouse very fast, you can just
leave half-life's window quite easily (not sure if hl2's mouse problems are
related to this). Anyway, if it could be an option in winecfg to keep the mouse
inside the desktop, (and it would work :) ) i think that would be an
improvement to wine. regards

by "not accepted" I mean I can enter them just fine, but on clicking "next",
they will be deemed invalid.

Well, usually people use the DXGrab option to prevent the mouse leaving the game
screen. Now I have no idea if this still works in the current Wine tree.
After, I once worked on the 'grabbing desktop' mode stuff but was blocked by
severe incompatibilities between how mouse grabbing works in X and how Wine
handles X inputs.
So I basically stopped working on it (and as anyway the Desktop stuff will be
mostly rewritten 'soon', it's better to wait for this to have happened to then
check if something can be done).

If you ask me the bugzilla search needs to be improved. Still WineCFG could
have a feature to let you download reccomended software (dcom98, ie6 etc) if
you have a win98 licence and install them correctly. In fact winecfg should
create a windows directory!
