First, I applied the patch for Homeworld Cataclysm which is provided on the relic website. 1.01 Second I altered the winecfg to use Windows XP settings for default. Leaving all else as defaults it runs. I do not know WHICH of those two changes was actually required, but I am betting on the patch. The fact that it runs in a native W98 environment but not a native W2000 environment unpatched, is telling. I have now played 2 missions and can report that it plays well under wine. Patch cannot be applied."
