Reopen this bug if you're actually going to provide at least SOME information of
what's wrong. Please also fill in the other options like OS and
Platform/Hardware correctly. The component is also wrong.

The problem seems to be here:
0009:Call kernel32.GetProcAddress(7b820000,00ff35e8 "FT_Thunk") ret=00b77a02
0009:Ret kernel32.GetProcAddress() retval=7b82782c ret=00b77a02
If you remove FT_Thunk() from kernel32.spec the application (FEAR Single Player
demo) comes up fine:
#@ stdcall -i386 -register FT_Thunk()
In a native kernel32.dll from winxp this function (FT_Thunk()) doesn't seem to
be exported, so i think that's where it goes wrong. Anyone know a proper
solution for it?

Well, just fyi this autostart function does work for it on Win 98 (it completes
full install), and the installer works on Win XP as well (as the autostart is
not needed there as the components it needs, like MDAC, are already present). So
I am not sure it is fair to say "the installer is broken" if it works on both
Win98 and WinXP but not in wine because Wine does not support autostart.
My long-term solution would be that Wine needs some kind of security framework,
where users would have, say, a "Security" tab in winecfg where they could select
various options like starting programs in the StartUp folder. But I believe that
if wine is trying to be 100% compatible with Windows then it should have at
least some (perhaps by default disabled) way to support _all_ the features that
Windows does, even if some of those can be abused.

Created an attachment (id=4871)

$ WINEDEBUG=+cursor wine HEMEKO.EXE 2>cursordebug.log
Cursor debug log as requested, for wine-0.9.30. This log should be the same
scenario as for file 4531.
This program is not available for download, it is commercial but abandoned.
However, I have obtained permission to send a copy of the program to a serious
wine developer if needed (only for development of wine).

This application starts fine (at least the start up screen) with the patch from
Peter Buetner from bug 7063.
I bet there must be more open bugs in bugzilla that are really duplicates of
that bug.
I'll resolve this one as dupe of 7063, though it should be the other way
around, but bug 7063 has the interesting info, this one hasn't...

Please attach completer terminal output of the crash. It seems you trying to use
some native DLLs that will not work on Wine.
