I had to set the emulated version to winxp to trigger the crash. So then I did like everyone suggested and set WINEPREFIX to where I want my wine c drive to be and it created it.. So I did what isnt recommended and made a symlink from .wine/drive_c to where I want the wine c drive to be and it still worked.
