Further analysis of this bug seems to be that it's a case of focus being in the
wrong place - even though the search field text is blinking, entered characters
are actually going into the search RESULTS below. You can see this behavior by
having a long search results list, and hitting a few characters - the program
will then jump to the alphabetical index of the characters you hit, rather than
typing them.

Still present in 0.9.37.
James - it's just the same behaviour in a local bot server as an online or local
server with real people.

Summary: Battle for Middle-Earth crashes
Product: Wine
Version: CVS
Platform: PC

OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wine-directx-d3d
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: ryanshow(a)gmail.com
Upon installing Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle Earth, I upgraded the
game to version 1.03 and installed the NO-CD patch. The game appears to load
fine at first, and displays the opening video sequences, but upon finishing the
video sequence, it crashes giving the errors attached below. I'm using a copy
of GIT as of May 11, 2007, and my video card information is at
http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=6271&action=view Also, I'm using
kernel 2.6.20-ck
As for my wine configuration, I have "Allow Pixel Shaders" checked and "Vertex
Shader Support" set to hardware. The game crashes in the same spot if I have
GLSL enabled or not.

Alas, this is not a development machine. I install wine as FC5 binary packages,
which isn't too surprising on a 350 MHz P2. Did this fix make 0.9.37?
