in testing and developing message-mode named pipes, progress is hampered
by the use of named pipes for lrpc in rpcrt4. i encountered a comment
saying "lrpc should be used, here, but for now named pipes are used".
... please could we have lrpc? :)

In general, none of workarounds qualify for bug fixing.

Does not work for me out of the box! No sound at all with wine-1.16.
But: I have not tested all the workarounds yet.
Requesting to re-open this bug.

Mouse works bad in Wine 1.1.16 in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow Of Chernobyl. In
previous versions of Wine mouse works fine, and in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Clear Sky it
works bad in all versions of Wine. After applying of patch mouse becomes very
soft that it was before bug appears in Wine 1.1.16! This is funny, it is better
to try it personally. I tried to hand down you this nice present effect.

Excellent. Patch works fine here too. I suddenly feel like sinking some
shipping...
I'd suggest sending the patch to wine-devel for review.
For reference: graphics of burning oil tanker, with patch:
