Summary: winecfg on wine 1.3.16 dont find the installed gecko
file
Product: Wine
Version: 1.3.16
Platform: x86
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: dyvazar(a)numericable.fr
on ubuntu natty i386, with packages of wine-team maverick ppa:
so are installed:
- wine1.3.16-0ubuntu1~maverickppa1
- wine1.3-gecko 1.1.0-0ubuntu1~maverickppa3
- winetricks 0.0+20110312-0ubuntu1~ppa1
- ttf-symbol-replacement-wine1.3
but get this popup warning while running winecfg from menu:
wine have not found gecko package, which is necessary ....
wine can automaticaly download and install it for you.
As i've not seen this warning with previous wine upgrades, i suppose this might
be related to a typo or switch have not be made as now it use (changelog) gecko
engine related to Firefox 4.
After this warning, few seconds later, winecfg panel is loaded as usual.

Summary: dotnet30 installer crash dialog says
servicemodelreg.exe crashed...
Product: Wine
Version: 1.3.15
Platform: x86
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: dank(a)kegel.com
With today's git, the winetricks regression test noticed that
winetricks dotnet30
now puts up a crash dialog box complaining about servicemodelreg.exe.
This worked with wine-1.3.15, and more recently, so this is
probably a regression in the last couple days.

OK not sure it will solve lag of turning character. It only solves software
mouse lag. You don't have to use the env WINE_Cursor with the patch I posted.
I was talking in future, but not sure I have time to incorporate all that
involved to allow you to select custom cursors.
You will see 2 cursors in games that use software cursors, you might not see
any cursor in games that have built in HW cursor.

For me, this patch resolv this bug
(http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=7640) for Assassin's Creed, Assassin's
Creed II and Assassin's Creed : Brotherhood.
With it, the game is very playable and the mouse isn't slow.

Math Workshop log - Wine 1.2.2
Math Workshop (version 1.1, I guess) fails to start because of missing
winspool.dll
I've tried creating symlinks, but that appears to have no effect. The attached
log was run as follows and without the symlinks:
WINEDEBUG="+winspool,+print,+loaddll" wine ./MATH32.EXE
# From the install directory, MATH32.EXE is the only executable,
# and there are no batch files or subdirectories.
Version obtained from install.log (odd name), which was on the install disk:

Um actually been thinking of it, might do a PPA. 1 with wine_pulse one
without.
Also gonna add Wine_Cursor environment, so you can choose the cursor you want.
IE: in gnome
env WINE_CURSOR=Circle wine somecommand.exe
This way you can make a cursor that matches your game, i'll prolly do a
custom1-4, so you could have 4 custom cursors, if you put a env Wine_Cursor it
would default to the way it is now, and if you do nothing it reverts to the way
wine has it.
