Summary: Citavi: mouse doesn't catch links
Product: Wine
Version: 1.1.17
Platform: PC-x86-64
URL: http://www.citavi.org/de/materialien/CitaviSetup.exe

Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: minor
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: winehq(a)sase.de
On some windows the mouse doesn't "get" the links. You have to move the
mousecursor some millimeters above, to use the link. It then transforms from
the normal mousecursor to a hand.
The menus are working. But the links within the windows (example screenshot
will be added) have this bug.

Wine output of origin.exe with openssl 1.0.1
After upgrading my archlinux x86_64 installation to openssl 1.0.1, running
Origin immediately pops up the crash dialog. I have included the wine output.
Reverting to openssl 1.0.0g (only 32bit was necessary) makes it run as it did
before.
I normally run a wow64 envirenment, but i have also tried a pure 32bit install,
with no different result.

imitates what pretty large and complex application does, and shows
that BSTR cache in Wine corrupts most of cached BSTR entries:
vartype.c:6145: good_length_entries 225, good_string_entries 162
vartype.c:6148: Test failed: good_string_entries 162 out of 256

vartype.c:6168: Test failed: good_string_entries 67 out of 256
Under Windows most of cached strings stay valid for pretty long time
after SysFreeString() is called.
Jacek, I'm adding you to the cc: list because you are the authour of BSTR
cache in Wine.

My lspci output
In some zones in Everquest 2 the entire game world goes black but the game UI
remains uneffected and you can still play, you just can't see anything that
happens outside what little info you can get from your game UI.
The effected zones for me are:
VP (Veeshan's Peak)
Lavastorm
Icy Keep
KP (Kylong Plains, outside of Karnor's Castle)
Nektropos Forest
This does not always happen except for in Lavastorm and some times it helps to
change your in game graphics settings, and some times it does not help.
As it is pretty far into the game and no loss of functionality exists (other
than the fact that you can't see what you are fighting) getting a console
output is challenging, if someone goes through how with me step by step I'd be
willing to give it a shot though.
Since I am the first to bugreport this (as far as I can see) it may be driver
related, I am using a Intel GM45 graphics chipset.
Ps. As long as you are not the tank you can put autofollow on someone and make
it through most zones without actually seeing anything, it's just really
annoying.

terminal output
This would be a follow-up to bug #31845 (?)
It was tested with the Steam version of the game. Steam installs MS VC++ 2008
and various DX libraries. The problem occurs if you set msvcr90=builtin.
The first time you start the game with built-in msvcr90 it seemingly runs
without issues. After exiting and restarting the game you receive a crash as
can be seen in the attached log. Even if you set msvcr90=native the game
refuses to start from then on.
The game stores it's settings/saved games in ../user/user_name/Application
Data/runic games/torchlight. This directory contains the file
local_settings.txt. The file is created/updated when the game starts as well as
when the game exits.
You have to remove the file each time before starting Torchlight with the
built-in msvcr90. Maybe it gets corrupted when it is created/updated.
Take the following scenario: you don't have native d3dx9_36 (or _39) installed
so the game doesn't start at all, it crashes early after starting. This also
results in a corrupted(?) local_settings.txt
The demo version available from Runic Games refused to start for me (that's
probably bug #28546), the demo uses some kind of protection.
Let me know what debug log would be of help.
