I downloaded PuTTY 0.62 and ran it under Wine 1.5.5. I was able to increase the
window size even though the window manager was decorating the windows (cf.
comment 7).
I ran PuTTY and connected via Telnet to telehack.com. At the initial screen I
increased the window height and typed help to print some text which filled the
new window height.
Perhaps this problem only showed up with older versions of PuTTY?

Output of PowerPoint when no override is set for riched20
PowerPoint 2007 (build 12.0.4518.1014) fails to start, Word 2007 and Excel 2007
do start.
I first tried without the fix for riched20 applied. The output is included in
attachment.
After that, I applied the fix for riched20 described here (setting override for
riched20 with settings native, builtin):

console error output
This crash seems to be a random one, i could not locate where it's happening.
WoW Client crashes without any error and in wine Console i get the attached
error output. Looks not very helpful eh?
