Nobody else seems to have ever succeeded either. Install and updates work without errors but game crashes immediately. Mercenaries sequel has similar problems. Assuming that the copy protection was part of the problem I used an unwrapper to get the real executable and tried it also. Please make sure you have DirectX 9.0 or higher installed.
