Looks like this has been fixed in today's wine-git.

Summary: Morrowind: Changing controls not possible
Product: Wine
Version: 1.1.2
Platform: PC-x86-64
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: liquid.acid(a)gmx.net
CC: vitaliy(a)kievinfo.com
Tested this with TSE3: Morrowind version 1.2.0722.
When trying to change a control in the in-game menu (there is not other menu,
apart from editing the registry which is impossible without knowing how
scancodes/? are encoded there) the game sort of locks up.
The game doesn't recognize any keypresses and simply stops responding.
Also it doesn't update the key-action binding...
Makes it impossible to use anything else than the standard keyb config.
Since I dunno if the game uses dinput I left the component to unknown, but I'm
adding Vitaliy so he can take a look (hope you don't mind, eh?)
Any traces I can generate?
Greets,
Tobias

Those patches are more so hardcoded hacks and comment #12 details what would be
a proper fix. I am not sure if anyone has commenced work that would ultimately
remedy the problem or not.

Patch not work with wine 1.1.2
Why not include the patch forever in wine ?
Thank you for your work.

Several patches that address few problems covered here are now committed.
Unfortunately I can't test much with my hardware - most FF-effects don't work
for some reason.

Summary: Minimize to tray on close/restore/minimize/restore with

Ubuntu Gutsy, Gnome and wine-0.9.59
Regression - NoteTab works pretty well in wine-0.9.58 (a few minor quirks)
Problem:
When NoteTab is launched, it only appears on the panel while loading. After
loading, it is nowhere to be seen on the panel. This makes it impossible to
minimize/maximize. If it is minimized from the application bar, it disappears
and there is no way to get it back. The process needs to be killed.
Photoshop and a few other Windows apps do not have this problem with
wine-0.9.59.
Testing:
Last night I installed wine-0.9.59 and NoteTab Pro 5.61 on a fresh install of
Ubuntu Gutsy on an old Dell and on Xubuntu Gutsy in Virtual Box.
Wine/NoteTab on the fresh install of Ubuntu produced the same bug which I
observed on three other Gutsy installs I tested including my new working box.
Several other NoteTab users also reported this bug on the NoteTab Linux list.
The shade format of XFCE handled minimizing NoteTab just fine. It has been
reported on the NoteTab Linux list, that it also works with KDE and XFCE on
Slackware.
I thought it might be related to Compiz that is running on my new machine but
since the bug also appeared on the old Dell that doesn't seem to be the case.
The bug seems to be Gnome specific.
NoteTab author, Eric Fookes also posted these comments which might be helpful
in correcting it:
"I suspect these issues affect any application that was compiled with Borland
Delphi. I very much doubt that NoteTab is the only application affected.
"Unlike programs created with other compilers, Delphi programs use an invisible
application window and a main application form that is the visible part of the
program. The Wine developers need to take this special approach into account if
they want their product to work correctly with all Delphi applications."
I searched and found several other possibly related bugs But wanted to report
the Gnome specificity and also the comments about Borland Delphi.
I have rolled back to wine-0.9.58 for the moment.
***new part***
I'm experiencing the exact problem with a "run-out-of-box" web server, Turbo
Delphi-based, HFS by
Rejetto.
Its tray icon appears, but can't minimize it to tray (it exits!) even if the
option "minimize to tray on close" is switched on.
Seems there are major problems about minimize/open/restore with this app(works
correctly on Windows).
Mine is set to start in tray: it shows its window for half a second then
hiddens
itself in tray, this works.
[But]:
1)if I double click on the tray icon it doesn't show up. Done this, I can't no
more click the restore button on right click menu.
2)If I remember to click restore it shows its window, but not in the bottom bar
nor in alt-tab.
3)It really goes nowhere if I minimize it, I must close it then.
4)So, the only way to show it correctly is to right click and let it do a "Self
test", which at the end opens a dialog box with a message, and voilà, seems
like this is what makes its window appear, and so the icon in the bottom bar.
4)As just complained, mine is set to minimize to tray if closed. Instead, it
simply closes.[THIS
BUG].
Tried to obtain a new build from its helpful coder Rejetto to make it appear
always as it does after self test, but nothing to do.
Oh, Wine 1.1.2 and Ubuntu 8.04.1.Seems like all this worked correctly with
*some* old Wine builds.

g2 wine 112 w/o NOTR music disabeld, resolution change crashes game
set "musicEnabled=0" in [G2path]/System/Gothic.INI
game starts up and shows menu and you can start a new game
changing resolution in game crashes, changing in Gothic.INI works, but starting
a new game then just gives a 100%CPU load when before it took literally 20
seconds to load, I got boored and killed it after 5 minutes
(see GothicWine112MusicDisabledResolutionChanged)
with Night Of The Raven installed (unpatched) the game crashes after playing
the intros but before showing the menu image
with NOTR patched the game refuses to start with a "Error!" titled pop up that
says "Error: bad communication with service!"
after installing the "gothci2_vdfs-patch.exe" it says "Error: loader couldN#t
initialize service!"
