Attached is the terminal window log showing all the fixme errors from Wine. The current working directory was my personal directory under drive_c/users, which is where I copied the Family Tree Maker install program FTM2017.EXE. The large gaps of blank lines in the log were me adding carriage returns in the terminal to separate different windows in the InstallShield wizard. Hello everyone, I am the AppDB maintainer of "Capitalism 2" a business strategy game which has some issues I would like to point out. The initial issue during tests some releases ago was that mouse control wasn't working but a staged patch could be applied which fixed the issue and got integrated into main wine. https://github.com/wine-compholio/wine-staging/tree/master/patches/dinput Unfortunately a new issue has sprung up in the game which is that when I move the mouse it has some redrawing issues and paints the background. I have included the register dump and the Terminal listing as attachments. I have tried to install Wine many times and it always fails at this point. I installed Wine as follows: sudo apt remove wine* && sudo apt autoremove sudo add-apt-repository ppa:wine/wine-builds sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install --install-recommends winehq-devel When I tired to install Bicycle Bridge (setup.exe) I got windows saying to install "mono" and "gecko". I clicked the install button in each of these windows. After the failed install, Bicycle Bridge ran fine until my wife won a game. Then it froze and had to be xkilled. This is repeatable. If you click Continue, the installer opens INSTALL.TXT in Notepad. When you close Notepad, the installer should continue, but instead it hangs. If you click Skip, the installer works but hangs after installation. The attached patch fixes the problem, mostly. For some reason you have to click the background after closing Notepad, and the installer still hangs at the end. This also causes white flashes when switching away and/or back to the game window when running in windowed mode, but it seems to be more a symptom of the commit blamed in 58491 [2]. Using the open-source amdgpu/mesa drivers, and KWin-X11. Last tested at d60f8286056 [3]. Instead, Wine's default, minimal, and visually unappealing decorations are displayed. I have enabled option "Allow the window manager to decorate the windows" in winecfg and it's working fine on Xwayland. Whenever a program uses mouse warping, a bounding box may trap it at a random time. This is temporarily resolved by causing the window to lose focus. I first knew this bug to occur on 2.4, and it may have been earlier. I knew 2.0 to work perfectly in this regard, but Steam now crashes on that version and cannot test 2.1-2.3. I've created a video demonstrating situations where this occurs. The bug has developed gradually. First version that crashes only on unplugging was 9.4. Since version 9.11 wine crashes on both plugging and unplugging. Tests were done by creating a completely new prefix for each tested version.
