The nick names are colored green or blue, the text should remain black. This works in general... But if one side sends several chat messages in row, the nick name is omitted (by TeamViewer). And then, an empty selection (where the nickname would be) is formated green or blue. It seems, that if this happens the second time, something is screwed up and the color becomes the default color... Of course TeamViewer could just NOT format the empty selection with EM_SETCHARFORMAT, (and this will be done in an upcoming release), but still this is a wine bug, I think. Go to preferences in iTunes running either on Mac or natively on Windows. 2. click on Sharing. 3. Enable Music Sharing. 4. Go to a wine directory which has iTunes installed. 5. Start up iTunes under Wine. 6. Wait about a minute. 7. Look under Sharing on the sidebar. Expected result: You should see the shared library. They should be also draggable when I click and hold mouse pointer over title of the toolbar. Problem exists in AutoCAD 2008 and AutoCAD Mechanical 2008. I attached image that shows the problem. All cuttings were done with unchecked option "Allow the window manager to decorate the windows". Last cutting was done in MS Windows XP running AutoCAD 2007. It's a DirectX 3 game using immediate mode. After some debugging I found that it relies on 3 (three) entries returned by EnumDevices whereas wine returns only the Direct3D HAL entry in this case (d3dversion == 1). Removing the if-clause in ddraw/direct3d.c and duplicating the HAL entry solves the problem and the game actually runs almost perfectly (Garbage -> Platinum). I checked a Windows installation which returns "HAL", "RGB Emulation" and "Ramp Emulation" but the comments in the file suggest that not all games are happy about that. Well until recently when I tested some stuff with windbg from "Debugging Tools for Windows" (Microsoft). I used debugging tools version 6.8.4.0 and recent GIT (wine-0.9.49-302-g58b85bb). Immediately when a child window was opened using toolbar (register, locals, .. whatever), windbg would become unresponsive, eating most CPU. Happens in both GUI modes - "floating/docking toolwindow" and "MDI emulation. Though "MDI emulation" is more obvious, it actually shows the endless refreshing (window caption). Attached is WINEDEBUG=+tid,+message,+win,+server log. Additionally I added a trace message which prints the current queue paint count (when incremented or fetched) which makes some things easier to spot. Printed as "inc_queue_paint_count: %d" and "get_message_paint_count: %d". I played a bit with ignoring null region updates and it seemed to help a bit (preventing endless WM_PAINT loop) though other stuff wasn't drawn properly then. The next problem is a crash related to d3dx9_36.D3DXAssembleShaderFromResourceW, roughly bug 12020. Work around this with 'winetricks d3dx9'. The next problem is that full-screen mode doesn't work (bug 21791). Work around this by telling the demo to run in a window. This prompts you to press N, and then crashes after you do, with wine: Unhandled page fault on read access to 0x0000001c at address 0x431c10 (thread 0009), starting debugger... Normally you won't notice it because the main installer claims success on this sub-installer. If you run WIC installer manually and press "finish" in last property page it simply hangs. Prerequisite: 1. clean WINEPREFIX 2. download .NET 3.0 Framework installer from: http://download.microsoft.com /download/4/d/a/4da3a5fa-ee6a-42b8-8bfa-ea5c4a458a7d/dotnetfx3setup.exe (sha1sum: a566bcd2ffffc3842a95adc57f7df3f8cd11577f) 3. export _SFX_CAB_SHUTDOWN_REQUEST=1 (workaround, see bug 9158) 4. wine ./dotnetfx3setup.exe It might take a while until all required packages are downloaded using BITS. Note: If you need to redo steps, backup the directory "dotnetfx304506.30" from "c:\\windows\\temp" to a different location, remove ~/.wine, copy "dotnetfx304506.30" again to "c:\\windows\\temp" to prevent BITS from downloading over and over again. When the message pumps exits, the return value is derived from "psInfo->result" which is set to IDOK (button "finish") in PROPSHEET_Finish(). When printing should take place, the following messages are printed to console: fixme:psdrv:PSDRV_GetDeviceCaps (0x1f5c): unsupported capability 1, will return 0 fixme:psdrv:PSDRV_GetDeviceCaps (0x1f5c): unsupported capability 3, will return 0 ... (capability numbers go from 1 to 31). The coupon boarders, expiration date, and scissors icon print, but the internals of the coupon are blank (bar codes, images, etc). It found my IP address right away, so that's fine. But it wasn't able to actually scan for MAC addresses; it had lots of fixme:iphlpapi:SendARP (DestIP 0xda01a8c0, SrcIP 0x00000000, pMacAddr 0x7abcc808, PhyAddrLen 0x7abcc7fc): stub messages. On Linux, at least, the way to do this is probably to send the packet, wait a millisec, then do ioctl SIOCGARP. (Or the command arp -n W.X.Y.Z. Or look in /proc/net/arp.) On starting Setup.exe from the game CD, the initial window is not rendered properly. It mainly consists of a grey background; the only part which is rendered properly is the "sparkling" Disney logo. If you move the pointer over where the buttons should be, they are drawn when the pointer passes over them. (See the Windows screenshot to find where the hotspots are.) With Wine *not* in virtual desktop mode, if you drag the window or activate another window, it refreshes/renders correctly. (In virtual desktop mode the window has no decorations, so cannot be dragged.) After the window has refreshed, if you partly cover it with another window, then click in the Setup window to bring it to the front, the just-revealed parts are blank. The company logos which should be played right after starting have the following properties: Video: WMV v7, 640x480 px, 4:3 Audio: WMA v7, 128 kbps, 44 kHz, Stereo, 16 bits The cutscenes in the game are separated into 2 files: a wmv file which also includes an audio track (WMV v7 / WMA v7) and a corresponding wav file (ADPCM, Stereo, 22 kHz) After installing WMP9 or 10 via winetricks the videos are still not playing. The demo can be used to test the issue but it contains only one of the company logos. Unfortunately, the current implementation of DWARF-2 support in DbgHelp is tied to ELF. This means it can't directly be used on Mac OS X, because Mac OS X does not support ELF. I understand that getting things to work on Linux first takes priority over getting them to work on Mac OS, but right now we Mac users are stuck with the inferior stabs format. Plus, I get the feeling we're going to need this for 64-bit support. Also, DWARF happens to be the default format on 10.5 and up. I also understand that the scheme that Apple uses is different from ELF systems. Not only does DWARF-2 stuff get its own segment (__DWARF), but when the binary is built, the DWARF stuff is put into a dSYM companion bundle. On top of that, the dSYM bundle isn't even generated automatically for multi-file builds. This means that: - We have to invoke dsymutil to create the dSYM bundle. - We have to install the dSYM bundle (if present) with each binary. - We have to find the dSYM bundle to get DWARF-2 debug info. It turns out that if i run compiz and try anything that zooms out of the desktop (eg fire up the app switcher or enable 3d windows and rotate the cube) i can see the app running normaly (videos and everything, i even managed to start a game). It seems that the app starts "above" the desktop for some reason (i've attached the log). Many 16-bit games, especially the old Windows 3.1 games like "whack-a-mole", "Bricklayer" and many others I've tried simply don't work at all in Wine. Since there's too many 16-bit games to list, it makes sense to write one bug report covering the same problem i.e. problems running 16-bit games. To run into this bug you need Alex Villacis' patch here: http://article.gmane.org/gmane.comp.emulators.wine.patches/49916 hopefully that patch will make it into git monday. after applying that patch the intaller failed with a message 'Call not implemented' The problem seems to be: fixme:MsiDatabaseGenerateTransformW By just returning ERROR_SUCCESS, it ran into two other unimplemnted functions: MsiQueryFeatureStateFromDescriptorA and MsiCreateTransformSummaryInfoW By stubbing these out with ERROR_SUCCESS the installer claimed to be successfull (but i guess that's doubtful). Fallout 3 Game of the Year Edition will crash in semi-random places when starting a New game. Some of these places include the black screen right after the opening video, after inputting the player's name, after customizing the character, During the Birthday scene when you are shooting the radroach with your BB Gun, etc. It seams to be a script executing error as the game is usually supposed to be doing something (ie. controlling the radroach so it doesn't attack the player, moving an NPC somewhere, setting game values(player name, how the player looks) when it stops. The Game has two different crashes for these events, but only one shows at anytime. The first one is obvious and the rarest a Message box pops up saying the Program encountered an error an needs to close. A stacktrace is able to be retrieved in this case. The second one is a freeze, ie the game is no longer controllable by the user, and the render has stopped. Music and sound effects (such as talking) still work until the program is killed, but the player cannot make any sound effects such as walking or shooting a gun. The game's menus are also disabled. I've followed the hq's guides on getting the program to run, with the small exception of manually installing the Games for Windows Live client and .Net Framework. As the game's installer hangs when the installer for those components have crashed, and thus must be killed to allow the installer to continue. It must be noted that a save game made after Vault 101 will work normally. It's unknown if it's the result of the save being from another computer with the game running normally or just after Vault 101 because i can't get the game past Vault 101 when starting a new game. This might be in the distant future, depending on how many apps need the other things that come with the runtime package, like mfc and a full msvcp, that wine does not yet provide. So this bug will likely remain open for a long time (if it's not closed for being too far ahead of its time). If you click on the "Show all drives" checkbox, all drives are indeed shown. Happily for us, this dialog box is in a separate executable. While that prompt is up, grab a copy of C:\windows\temp\SDDriveSelector.exe You can then reproduce the problem easily by running just that .exe. +relay shows it's using GetDriveType() on each drive, but evidently it doesn't like what it's getting.
