The problem appears when gdi text is drawn with font rotation *and* display context rotation. The problem do not appear when either font rotation or display context rotation is zero. The application uses CreateIndirectFont to set a fixed size font with optional set rotation and draws the text with TextOut(). The display context rotation has been set with SetWorldTransform(). We tried to find a test case application, but where not able to reproduce the problem outside the application. Not sure if this is causing any negative consequences, and I have not found any similar descriptions among the recent issues. The game works, audio plays, inputs are recognized, AI works (the player is being attacked), only that no graphics ever show up. Tested so far with both Wine 3.13, 3.14, and 3.14-staging. Although not a problem here, I suspect other hard-coded comparisions need to be relaxed as well: line 1311. When you fix it, make sure the name offset passed to 'monitor_load' and 'monitor_load_by_port' is still correct because it's used to match registry sub-keys ('Local Port' etc.). With that part fixed, the installer completes successfully. I clicked the install button in each of these windows. After the failed install, Bicycle Bridge ran fine until my wife won a game. Then it froze and had to be xkilled. This is repeatable. I can confirm it has, and does, work fine under Wine 2.21 - just tested today on a MacBookPro8,1 running the official binaries (https://dl.winehq.org/wine-builds/macosx/pool/winehq-staging-2.21.pkg) under OS 10.13.6. Meanwhile, I have a new Mac (MacBookPro16,2 - Intel-based), on which I’ve deployed Wine 7.0 via homebrew under OS 12.6.1. There I can start nfremote just fine... but it ignores my mouse input. If I were to start it with the command-line argument "run", it presents me with a window where both keyboard and mouse input are accepted; there I can type in the text fields, so I know it's responsive. But when I hover the cursor over buttons, they do not 'light up’ to indicate such. And when I click, nothing happens. Even in years past, I found that newer versions of Wine exhibited the issue I describe below, so I simply never updated beyond 2.21. I first knew this bug to occur on 2.4, and it may have been earlier. I knew 2.0 to work perfectly in this regard, but Steam now crashes on that version and cannot test 2.1-2.3. It relies on layered windows and DwmExtendFrameIntoClientArea to handle the transparent display. Currently, the main UI elements show, but the game (or any other application) does not show through. This seems to be because DwmExtendFrameIntoClientArea is only a stub. I'm not sure if that's the only reason it's not transparent, but it's at least one of the reasons. The program itself uses the unity3d engine along with some native dll calls to the relevant user32 apis to handle the transparency. I was able to get a copy of the relevant code (but not the whole application), of which I will attach. Since I can't get all of the code, I've been using an unity sample application to try to figure out some parts myself (the relevant code is here https://github.com/pheonise/Unity3D-Desktop-Overlay/blob/master/Assets/Scri…) This unity3d application works as expected on windows, but is not transparent via wine (as expected). When i comment the call to DwmExtendFrameIntoClientArea, then it its also no longer transparent on windows as well. It seems that if the sample application works, then I can make sure the dev applies to the same technique to the overlay application. A simple Hello World program (console application) does not work at all (see the log file). So the binary file is fine. In addition, I can add that both computers run an Nvidia GPU but only the Xeon computer runs the nvidia proprietary driver from rpmfusion.
