You can now search a portfolio and get back a search window showing hits in the various PDF files in the portfolio, but the results are unusable because the expanded results window doesn't contain any text for the search hits and they can't be selected to jump to the relevant location in the PDF file where the hit occurred. See the two uploaded screen dumps, showing the expanded results window from performing the same search on a PDF portfolio using firstly Reader 11.0.4 under wine and then Reader 11.0.4 running on winxp. I cannot understand what would cause this. Clicking OK makes the game launch as normal. I don't know what this is for, but I believe a dummy "getdfDIJoystick" could be implemented so it "passes" the check. This only happens via Wine/Proton, and does not happen in native Windows (according to other users). I don't have a Windows machine to test. I did not test this with "pure" Wine, but I believe this is a Wine issue rather than a Proton issue. I'll leave a screenshot attached. I tried to make pfx by openssl 1.0.1, also by microsoft windows built-in export-to- -pfx wizard. Also tried making pem-files, but got succesfull import only for public part of certificate. Also I tried making certificate request by windows CA and by Openssl, but still no luck. Also tried importpfx.exe -f certificate.p12 - p "1" -t USER -s MY. (With MACHINE parameter also) The output says that import suceeded. But i did not see any certificates in wine control. Importing of cer-files works. What am i doing wrong? This bug is about a crash / hang in the installer for the retail release of Command and Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars when used with the recommended installation type. (The advanced installation type is unusable under Wine, see the original bug #53561.) After clicking on the next button on the installation type screen, installer appears to try and copy files. This is supposed to have a progress indicator that fills up, but it gets drawn in wine as completely full, with status "Copying new files". The UI has stopped updating and placing another window (Wine or from the host's WM) over it will cause graphical corruption. After about a minute on my machine, the UI window disappears entirely. The msiexec process however is still running in the background, and can be seen on the task bar if wine is running with a virtual desktop. It is also still visible in wine's taskmgr.exe. Where it shows two msiexec processes and one unnamed 32bit process. (Wine's taskmgr shows "*32" for the process name.) After this the process does not exit unless killed. Doing so kills both msiexec processes and the unnamed 32bit process. Looking through the registry after killing the installer, we find that it did create the needed registry keys expected by the game, in addition to installing the games files at the expected default location. The game does run in this state. So it appears that the installation was successful, despite the bug. Running the installer with WINEDEBUG="+msi" causes the installer to run correctly. I.e. It doesn't crash / hang indefinitely. Although, the UI still stops updating while the files are copied, it will recover in this case and allow the installer to run to completion. While this takes some time on windows, wine instantly switches to the next "finalizing" step, which causes the application to close shortly afterwards. I suspect the winsock error causing the installer to not find any downloadable packages, resulting in a proper finalizing and closing. There is a problem with rundll32.exe that I was finally able to isolate after lot of trial and error. The problem is on Debian Bookworm that the rundll32.exe process that is started never reaches wWinMain (I put TRACE() at the beginning). I'm attaching the bad trace log from Bookworm and the good trace from Bullseye. A simple workaround for me now is to copy rundll32.exe from Bullseye. Any ideas what to try next? Now, fitgirl repacks crashes at random progress, while rg-mechanics repacks are straight to the error, the same as always. I read that in the past this was fixed so that's a regression but since no-one has reported this and apparently no one has that problem, I'm filing this bug as normal. For the record: this bug happens since I installed linux, at the time Wine was at version 6.0. Apparently this was just enough to "break the donkey's back". I also copied the Arial font files from Windows (arial.ttf, ariali.ttf, arialbd.ttf, and arialbi.ttf) to my $HOME/.fonts directory. Under Windows, Arial is returned once with the test program. This prefix is run exclusively with the 64 bit version of wine. With the currently set dll overrides and winetricks modifications, and starting with a wine version of 2.0 rc2, wine has had no problems running this game. However, upon trying to run it after updating to 2.0 rc5, the game launches, loads the names of the companies and a disclaimer about other engine components they used, and then crashes prior to reaching the main menu. I have attached the full output of the wine process when this occurs. This regression is not present in the current wine-devel version. All other video games installed to this prefix still function with no errors. These games include: Fallout: New Vegas, Bioshock, Mass Effect 1, Mass Effect 2. I have installed several windows DLLs using winetricks, and several others were installed by steam during game installation. The result is a very burnt out / heavy fog looking Japan. As seen in the attached screenshots. As bug #53197 was about stubbing D3DX11LoadTextureFromTexture() in wine, it may be related. Finally, attempting to enter a battle from the campaign map will cause the game to crash after a few calls to D3DX11GetImageInfoFromMemory(). Distros tested: Arch Linux, EndeavourOS, SteamOS Versions tested: Wine 4.21, 7.2, 8.3, 8.4, and all versions of Valve Proton 2007 indie game 'Hard Time' incorrectly displays white outlines around all text, caused by font anti-aliasing being forced. On Windows, the game correctly runs with no AA without tweaking required by the user. Disabling font anti-aliasing at the Xorg level or by using your DE's options works around this, as there is no way to disable font AA in Wine itself (that I can tell). After that, the BattleEye error occurs, blocking to run the game. Note: This game was ported from the Nintendo 3DS, and most / all of it's UI is intact. "UI windows" are essentially the game's menu / dialog box interface. (Called "windows" here as that's what the game's configuration INI file calls them.) Attempting to start a new game the first time causes each window to fill the entire application window and draw on top of each other. With only the top most window receiving user input. For the second attempt to start a new game, the windows are correctly sized / placed but only the most recently drawn window accepts user input with no way to switch to an inactive window. This breaks the game as the first requirement of the player is to use an inactive window's "Enter Company Name" button. The game's configuration INI file contains options for setting each window's origin X/Y coordinates, width and height. However editing these values manually seems to result in a deadlock. With the game continuing to update the application window (minimize / partial hide / etc.) but otherwise refusing user input after showing the company logos. Attempting to use a known good configuration file from Windows also doesn't work. As the game seemingly ignores it with no visible window behavior change from when starting a new game. When installing the game in Advanced install type mode (to change the destination install directory) the installer fails to continue past the component selection screen, displaying the error: "At least one language pack must be selected" The default component selection includes the language pack, and even deselecting and re-selecting it does not fix the error. Making the installer unable to proceed. This can be worked around by using the "Recommended" install type, but that means the user must manually change the game's installation directory after the game is installed. It should also be noted that changing the install directory causes the installer to display "_BrowseProperty" as the selected path after closing the folder selection dialog. If anyone wants to conveniently test and debug this issue, I wrote a simply Python program for this. Simply run the program, open a txt file (which the program will convert each line into speech when the "Next Line" button is played), and watch it fail to play sound and cause the "Next Line" button to stop working until a new file is selected. (An older App DB report using wine 3.3 mentions the same problem and fixing it by installing d3d9.) There is no console output indicating a problem in that area (recreating the test with wine 3.3 gives plenty of d3dcompiler error messages; perhaps they have been silenced since then?). Since the other d3dcompiler related bugs I checked all seemed to have d3dcompiler error messages I opened this new report, though it very likely still is a duplicate.
