I seem to recall that at least on the later Debian's the compiler is bi-arch and you can tell it what kind of code to generate. There was a howto somewhere about how to compile a 64-bit Linux kernel on AMD64, and I also seem to recall -m32, but that only really influences the size of ints, longs and pointers, which I believe is the real issue here. One of them which hits eme is the low emtpy space on mounted partitions. When I am installing some big software I usually change the %temp% dir by editing ~/.wine/config to point it to the FS wich has enough free-space. When a new disks and partitions on my machine are going in and out I need to do the same. I haven't been changing the %PATH% dir too often, but there are some console win32 utilities, made by me and such which have no installer. So, if I need to run them from the batch file at wcmd, I basically need to modify %PATH%. Again, this may be need by power-win32-users, who basically can't stand the GUI of "regedit". :-P PS maybe an alternative for the "winecfg" may be some cmd-line option like the "/advanced" to make such functionality available to user at run-time?

WineSetupTk...

Dear Oh Glorious Developers, (without which none of this would be possible) I have decided to try Wine for the first time and I'm trying to keep it simple. linking with windows .lib fies?

Hi All, I have a MSVC project I am converting with winebuild. My project links in a windows .lib file that is provided by a third party. Can I link this library file into my winelib project, and if so how? I cant seem to find any recent discussion on this topic so if you could point me to some I would be very grateful. regards, Scott. No, I don't think we want to make the paths configurable that way. At least for the windows and system dirs, they will most likely be embedded in the registry somewhere so you can't change them without reinstalling everything; and there's no real reason to anyway.
