[game] Running; Dark Reign - The future of war with Wine

Dear Wine Developers, I've tried to get this game running with wine but after starting i get a nice main menu (sound is ok, too) but there is no mouse. You can't use the mouse altough there is a nice animated cursor. There must be something wrong with wine because in cedega it's working nice. More about this in [2] check the comment from me to dig further into this problem. My question is where should I start to search for the mouse problem? Was there a similar problem with other games in the past? Also note i've already tested the DX grab and the DGA settings with no effect. Maybe this problem is solved very fast! That would be goot because then i could start working on the network/IPX/IP things to get network play working. Dark Reign - The future of War and The Rise Of the Shadowhand is running quite nice with cedega, and I believe if only the mouse would be working it would do the same with wine! MAPI32.dll.so - how to use in linux programs?

[please cc to this address lkcl(a)lkcl.net, thank you!] hi, i am in the process of decoding mapi for an exchange 5.5 client/server project. i have got to the point where i can send (with a test program) and receive (in a test server) MAPI data. i noticed that Wine has a mapi32.dll.so. i was therefore wondering: could someone kindly point me in the direction of a stand-alone example program plus example Makefile(.am?) which i can cut/paste which will show me how to use mapi32.dll.so? the test program relies on a test loader program, so i can't find a "int main (char *argv[], int argc)" anywhere nor is it obvious what's going on. pointers to any existing simple usage documentation more than sufficient. any information and assistance greatly appreciated: in the mean-time i will keep blatting out hard-coded packets... l. -- -- <a href="http://lkcl.net">http://lkcl.net</a> --

Help on Wine

Hello, In the last few days I executed some tests to understand a segmentation fault problem in my pcsdll library working with WineLib in RedHat 9. I created: - A little library pcsdll exporting a function that calls the TlsAlloc function - A little executable pcsmon that calls the exported library pcsdll function and creates a window Linking the library with the command g++ -m32 -march=pentium-mmx -mcpu=i686 -g -shared -Wl,-soname=pcsdll.so ...... when the pcsmon calls the library function the library obtains a segmentation fault in calling TlsAlloc function. Do you have any idea about what I miss? Also remember that the return type is a BOOL so we could return TRUE everywhere but I chose to mimic Windows here and return a masked value. The tests show this is the case. > p.s. DroneZMark (OpenGL) http://www.3dfxzone.it/files/download/benchmark/dronezmark_setup.zip GL Excess (OpenGL) http://www.glexcess.com/files.htm Both of these benchmarks are *free* and there are other OpenGL benchmarks out there.. I just like these two. I know of some other small benchmarks as well that run in Wine if your interested in them let me know. I can run 3DMark 20001SE (DX 8.1) if I run each demo by its self so therefor I cant get results. some benchmark results

I found an interesting program today and took it for a spin. I'm sure someone smarter than me can decipher this and get more out of it. It's called PerformanceTest v5.0 (build 1017) and it does benchmarks on lots of different things. I didn't look into what, if any of this stuff depends on Win32. For all I know it's written in assembly. A quick look at the results seems to point at lots of Win32 stuff.
