Need help copying and painting with BitBlt

Hey guys, I'm working on implementing the SizeBar in HTML Help, but I'm running into troubles with BitBlt. The expected behavior is as follows: * User left-clicks on the SizeBar window. WM_LBUTTONDOWN - Copy the contents of the SizeBar window to a bitmap. * User "drags" the SizeBar left or right. WM_MOUSEMOVE - Draw the bitmap containing the SizeBar contents with XOR so the old position is erased and the new position is drawn. * User releases the SizeBar. WM_LBUTTONUP - Release bitmap resources. - Resize internal windows. The only thing not working is the color of the moving SizeBar. The color in the bar is black with very few specks of white here and there. Also, when the bar passes over text, the parts of the bar with text under it turns white. Another problem is that the bar is drawn 23 pixels too high, so the bar starts at y=26 even though I specify y=49 in BitBlt. Right now I'm using a couple global variables temporarily until I can get the feature to work, but the following is the function that copies the bits from the SizeBar window into the bitmap: static void SB_CopySizeBar(HHInfo *pHHInfo) { HDC hdc = GetDC(pHHInfo->hwndSizeBar); RECT rc; hdcMem = CreateCompatibleDC(hdc); SB_GetSizeBarRect(pHHInfo, &rc); hbm = CreateCompatibleBitmap(hdc, rc.right, rc.bottom); SelectObject(hdcMem, hbm); BitBlt(hdcMem, rc.left, rc.top, rc.right, rc.bottom, hdc, 0, 0, SRCCOPY); } When I paint the bar I use: BitBlt(hdc, rc.left, rc.top, rc.right, rc.bottom, hdcMem, 0, 0, SRCINVERT); I've attached a screen shot of what it should look like, and what it actually looks like. Theming SoC outcome

Hi, as some of you may have noticed, I did a bunch of theming-related work in Wine, which was done within a project in Google's Summer of Code. This is a small overview over what I've done: - All "non-standard" controls(those that are provided by comctl32, e.g. Tabs) are themed and seem to work quite well so far. - All standard controls except Buttons and Scrollbars are themed, though not always perfect. - Due the fact that uxtheme was actually used, a number of fixes and improvements have been made. However, there are still things left open: - Bugs. Notably, the dreaded A->W WM_GETTEXTLENGTH issue breaking all Delphi apps. Working on it though. - A number of smaller and not so small visual glitches. - Speed. Seems with alpha blending things are not exactly blazing along. At least for some of the issues I still have some ideas floating around, so I guess I'll stick around a bit longer and try to get them fixed. -f.r.

oh, and a question about old config options

Hi, i also would like to ask the following question: I've sent in a patch to add an option to run applications in Managed mode (or not). My question is : what is the status of this option (and others from the old config file) in current wine: is there a policy to get rid of these options, or will they remain in wine. ATM this option still helps some apps (like winamp) to run in a better way. Furthermore: will there be an option added to winecfg where you can set the debug options (like RelayExclude) or do we have to do this for eternity in the registry now (which i find rather annoying) At least: what i as i user would find very handy is some kind of environment variable where you can set the searchpath for native dlls. Again, atm this has to be done in the registry, but a more userfriendly way would be better i think. ntsepkg.h and security.h missed in wine

Hello, All! I'm trying to compile Miranda-IM with Winelib (main module already compiled) and find oud that these two necessary headers are missed in Wine-includes. Organizing more Wine bug triage

Wine's bugzilla has 375 unconfirmed bugs reported since the beginning of the year. A fair number of these are worth fixing, but don't have good recipes for how to reproduce them. I think it's time to make a concerted effort to recruit more Wine users to help triage bug reports, so wine developers can spend less time sorting through poor bug reports. As a first stab, I've created a web page, http://kegel.com/wine/qa describing bug triage and giving easy steps for people who are interested in helping. Please have a look. If you are using wineinstall then that explains it, it used to do that, I have fixed it in CVS. I will then make uninstall, make clean, check to make sure that all vestiges of Wine are gone to the best of my ability, then reinstall with wineinstall and see what winecfg looks like then. Oh, and I'll catch the output from wineprefixcreate, in case there's a clue there. It will take a few hours to get to it, though, RL is making some demands, and all my current projects are backed up a bit. I'll report if any of this helps, but if anyone sees anything I've missed in my cleanup procedure, please tell me. Holly
